It was a fantastic photography event with great teaching: capturing light streaks, shooting in JPEG, and more.
Thank you to C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY for inviting me; thank you to Tulsa Photog Group (Photographers of Tulsa Oklahoma Group) for holding this event; thank you to Robert Lake from Bedford Camera & Video for a great educational teaching; and thank you to Tulsa Community College for allowing all of us to use your venue.
We learned a lot of great information about photography, cameras, and new technologies coming soon.
Did you know that there’s a new form of JPEG that also holds all the information like a RAW file? I know! That’s awesome!
Anyway. My brother and I also took this opportunity to spend a little bit of time taking night photographs of the downtown Tulsa area right around TCC’s Creative Arts Center. Yes, I lowered the quality of these images for the blog, but they still turned out great.
It turned into a chilly night, as you could tell in this photograph, where a big mound of snow was still piled high in the parking lot.

This next one is one of my favorites. I tried the painting with light technique that C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY is really good at and came away with this cool photo. It reminded me of Anubis as represented by the jackal or cat. Maybe I’ve been watching too much Stargate lately. Lol.

This next one was the backside of the TCC Creative Arts Building. The backside was not necessarily built to be eye-catching, as is the case with most construction, I guess, but photographers see beyond what is obvious and find the beauty and creativity. And sometimes I just get lucky. 😁

The next one reminds me of an old or foreign city. When I look at this image, I feel like I’m watching a black-and-white Hallmark film set in a location I might not ever be able to visit in real life… And yet, I was there, and it was real life!

This one is more playing around with the painting with light technique. Okay, fine, you got me. I was changing my settings to get a nice shot of downtown Tulsa, which I did in another photograph, but I accidentally hit the shutter button while messing with the settings. This was the resulting image. Kind of cool, isn’t it?

Here are the other photographs I took that night.
We only stayed out for about 45 minutes or so, I think it was.
Like I said, it was chilly. Brrr.

I had a wonderful time that evening. I enjoyed all the learning, meeting new people, taking photographs, and spending time with my brother.
